His actions had the desired effect on charming the beautiful young woman. It seemed he had not lost his touch with the fairer gender, although such gentry hadn't been used since his suave days in London. The women there had been free and loose, or stiff and cold, with little range between depending on their family and circumstance. Sage River seemed to fit in neither of the two categories - She seemed to whimsical, far prettier than the Faes he had known over the ocean.

Perhaps it was her coyote blood. He had an affinity for the sleekness of her features, finding them appealing. His own mixed blood offered some of the same - A little more refined than the wolfish harshness and bulkiness that suited others well.

She considered his offer for a moment, but he knew it to be won when a small rumble came from her stomach. The man straightened, releasing her delicate hand with a lingering sort of regret. The Fae's delicate words confirmed her assent, though, and the disheveled Revlis man rewarded her with another sharp crocodile smile. She called her beast, which came obediently, seeming to sense no malice from Sirius. He had heard that prey animals often had that ability; some sort of sixth sense that alerted them to the insincerity of one's heart. The idea irritated the man, who had a fondness for labelling them as dumb livestock, little more that items to be purchases and dealt with suitably.

In some regards, he could hold the same opinion of Luperci. Eris' slavegirl often came in handy, and she was to Eris as this horse was to Sage. It was not a concept that troubled him. Each individual was born with a purpose, and some were simply born to serve others. He was born to Hunt and to Lead, and she - Sirius did not deceive himself with wondering at the Lykoi princess' purpose. Why fate had crafted such a pretty face had yet to be seen by lime eyes.

She moved away to search for a suitable sitting spot, and Sirius took the raw hare-meat in the hand not holding its pelt. He had decapitated it earlier, but the head had little meat on it and had been discarded for the ravens and scavengers. The dark man followed the wavy-haired girl to her chosen log, and put the pelt on it before turning to survey the area. Had he been eating alone, he would have devoured the rabbit raw, but in such lovely female company it seemed only prudent and civil to cook it. "Please, sit. Make yourself comfortable," came the smooth tenor tones, but lime eyes did not look to her just yet. He found a long enough stick, and used it to skewer the meat. He would use it as a spit, on which to roast.

The man had brought a flint, and after swiftly gathering together some dried tundra, sat crosslegged and began the arduous process of lighting the small fire. The flint sparked, but did not yet create the small embers he required. Above the sound of the stones striking together, the dark stranger spoke again. "If I may be so bold, you intrigue me, Miss Sage," The refined gentry words were offered to her with a brooding glance from sharp Hunter's eyes, and he paused a moment to smile at her before resuming striking the flint. "Why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself?"
