His words did not seem to fear her, which for a moment thrilled the male. Many females were easily repulsed by the serpentine hunger to be found in his hard eyes and his silver tongue, should he allow for them to see and hear it. But the tawny girl, this Sage, seemingly had a boundless curiosity for the Hunter. How foolish that could have been - But she was not his prey, and he had such a weakness for beauty that perhaps he would have shown mercy even so. For all his misgivings, Sirius was not a monster - Merely a driven man.

At the moment, he felt driven toward her, but she was merely a distraction. A pretty thing shining in his peripheral vision - Something to admire for a while, perhaps, but not to be dissuaded by. She did not fit into his plan, not at this point in time, and the cunning male was forced to remind himself of this again as her lovely golden eyes met his once more.

She challenged him with her question, and the lean, dark male did not answer for some time, apparently mulling over his answer. Holding the stick with the skewered rabbit, he ripped off one crispy limb and held it out towards the girl, taking another for himself and stabbing the stick back into the ground. "Well now, let me see," His yellow teeth glinted at her a moment before being lost in the meat of the rabbit's leg. Juice dribbled about the male's dark goatee, but he fastidiously licked his maw clean. Cleanliness was clearly something very important to the order-bound, organizational Hunter. "What has a pretty girl like you to fear from any dark stranger she meets on the mountain?" He took another sharp bite, but his posture was relaxed, conversational. "I suppose you should fear the unknown. Everybody else does."
