Flowers don't bloom here
#3
It was one of the warmest spring days of the season, and Aletha was enjoying every warm breeze and pastel colored flower the day was offering. She had been surviving in the off skirts of the Phoenix valley pack for a while now. To uncertain to make herself known to many others and not very comfortable knowing to many anyhow.
So in her happy solitude she wadded through a swift moving creek. Paying little attention to the world outside of her as she pointlessly chased fish in the shallows, there speed did little to dampen her spirits.
A little way off she could smell the smells of an other wolves milling in the distance. Paying little mind to it, she contained her game like a pup three quarter her age.
Giving up and deciding to dry her fur in the sun she strolled off through the long grasses, that when brushed against blew a sweet smell of dew.
In the distance she heard the female, Jace? She struggled to recall. She knew little about her, yet the females voice reached her. Telling off an stranger who had approached onto the territory.
"Oops" Aletha said to herself embarrassed. Pressing her ears to her head. So thats who she had smelled. And she had done nothing about it, nothing at all. Shame washed up on her.
An inner conflict whirled inside of her. If she left she wouldn't have to face the stranger or the pack mate who might be sour to her for her late of action. Yet it was her duty now that she had joined the pack months ago. It was no longer about her.
Summoning up her bravo, she pushed her thin nose through the brambles and bushes to were the two luprici stood and sat assessing one an other. She stood there half out of the leaves. Her eyes carefully ventured to her pack member. She did not look in the best of health all the while the intruder lay there with a thick healthy looking coat.
Though Aletha was no fighter of any sort. She knew in case it got ugly she might need to help. She nodded her slender head to jace before sitting a bit away from her paws, like an obedient dog. She said nothing to the stranger just carefully eyed her.
