The freshness of the breeze tasted of salt and the silent promise of advancing warmth. While the qualities of the sea and its salty touch spoiled the silkiness of her healthy fur, it was an insignificant evil that she had little troubles withstanding, all positive aspects taken into consideration. The harshness of the winter was wearing down and replaced by softer hues in the soil. Soon the world would be alive again. Crouching down by the edge of the rocky beach, eggshell hued fingers caressed a young, freshly green stem of a living entity that sought to stretch up and toward the sun. Eyes dressed with blood’s vivid red squinted up toward the glorious blue above. It was a tranquil scene in every sense, but Halo was not part of the hippie revolution brooding within the lands, and soft fingertips quickly turned hard and squashed the young life asunder without remorse.
Rising slowly, she drew a last, untainted breath of air and sea before she turned away from the magnificent view and started to walk back; heading into the new heart of Inferni. The young warrior rubbed her hands together, but the stickiness from the demolished plant remained. She should have washed it off before she had turned away from the sea, but it was not unbearable. Only annoying. Her senses did appreciate the approaching season’s form, taste and smell, but contentment would have to work very hard to reach her facial features. Her general demeanour was cold and not very friendly. Would it be so hard to produce a smile with relative honesty? A sticky finger ran along the curving line of her lip, tracing the lifeless line.
Perhaps the actual issue was that she was afraid to feel the contentment that once again was forming the exterior of her current life here. Something always happened when she got up on her feet. She was wary.
