Within his arms he cradled the small white bird, the net still tangled around it, its white feathers stained red from the small cut the threads had caused. Initially, the bird had struggled, kicking up as much of a fuss as it was capable of, but after awhile and a few death threats from the Dasa, the bird seemed resigned to its fate and had remained still within his arms since.

After stumbling across the captured creature, he had felt compelled to pick it up and take it home and he knew why; when he lost one he cared for, he found something to replace it. When he had lost Jay, he’d learned to depend upon the necklace Jay had given him, now he’d lost Selene and so he was using a small, helpless bird that reminded him of her to get over her death.

Despite his position as a Dasa, warrior of Anathema, he was a weak wolf; both in mind and body. He possessed none of the skills he needed to defend those close to him.

Entering the cave system that he called home, he sought out the pompous grey wolf for his assistance; hoping that Liev would know what to do with the bird and to see if Liev was willing to give him some lessons on how to use the blade that hung by his side.

But after his last encounter with the male, he didn’t get his hopes up; Liev had every right to reject his request for assistance, for he had threatened to kill him and attempted to..

Sighing, he hovered around outside Liev’s room, being indecisive about whether to ask the other for help or not. As he was about to turn around and give up, the small bird let out a piercing cry; announcing his presence to the world.

“You little piece of..” he growled down that the creature in his arms and he was sure the bird looked smug…
