TOTALLY MAKING IT AFTERNOON BECAUSE I CAN.

Silvano had never been to the big city. Really, it was odd that he had not yet walked out this far. But maybe that was why he had never bothered; it was so far away. It took such a long time just to get to the city. It was early morning when he had set out and now the sun was definitely further in the sky than before. He looked at it, apprehensively. It would take a while to get back home; he was not afraid to travel at night but he did not want to make his mother worry; she did not need that at all. Savina needed quiet and peace, so he hoped she would never notice him returning home late that night, especially since he hoped to be back at a reasonable hour. Maybe even with bribes in tow to give to his sisters. That would make her smile. Silvano wanted to be better than his older brother, who he felt was sneaking off all the time just to goof off.

It was strange, seeing all of these big buildings mixing with smaller ones. All the faded and broken signs jumped at him; they were bright, promising sales, discounts, new items, everything. It was such a good thing he could read; it would make it easier to figure out what a place was. Maybe he could even find a map and then he could make his own bigger version so he could label where places of interest were. But maybe that was a little too much effort. So for now, he just kind of ambled around, walking on two legs rather than the four he had used to run here; he wanted a break from that.

Something rustled, and the Sadira turned his head in the direction where he thought it came from. It was a convenience store next to a broken down florist's or maybe a bookstore. It was hard to figure what it was now; the windows were that dusty and whatever signs were missing or too faded and sun bleached and stained to read. Whatever it was, it could not have been the source of the sounds; it was more of a clank than a crash or boom. So convenience store it was. Besides, there were stronger scents coming from the store. So the young adult stepped through the gaping door, eyes adjusting to the light in the store. The scent was strong; it was Dahlian. It had to be. It just reminded him of Shiloh, the potential friend he had not seen in so long.

But who was it? He looked between the rows and finally found a younger male on all fours near the bottles of what the Sadira assumed was alcoholic. The humans did not have the same bottles for alcohol as they did for water and other drinks he never could try like soda or gatorade. Whatever those were. It was too dangerous to try those things; they were long since past their prime. Shockingly long past. The young male was licking up something from the floor, that had leaked from a bottle; an alcohol bottle. Silvano furrowed his brows. "What are you doing?"
