The cloth sack the fairy queen carried was heavy, but the weight did not faze her. She barely noticed it, though she unconsciously straightened it every half hour or so. It would empty as she moved along, and her first stop was not far at all. She had made the journey many times before, but only once after the neighboring pack had been established. The black and white woman had had no real authority then, the girl had simply been driven only by curiosity and good intentions. This time good intentions came with her but her purpose was more defined. Conor had never made this trip; at least if he had she didn't know about it. Even if he had, the man was out and the girl was in. It was simply inexcusable for two packs living so close to be strangers, and she did not intend for them to be so any longer.
On her last visit she remembered Shawchert being very kind, eager to answer any questions that had sprang from her lips. Hopefully he was still in such good spirits, although she did not know if any circumstances would have occurred to make his mood sour. Momentarily she thought of Alexander, the man who had left Cercatori d'Arte for Dahlia de Mai, but she let him slip from her mind. If his name arose they would talk of it then, but Alexander had not indicated any reason for her to be suspicious of his residence in her pack as opposed to in Cercatori.
When she reached the borders, it seemed as if no time had elapsed and remembering how well her previous visit had gone the Dahlia de Mai alpha did not hesitate to throw back her head and let out a long, low hollow. Surely Shawchert would hear it, but it sent the message of summoning any leaders of Cercatori d'Arte. Lowering her sack to the ground, Nayru let her ruby eyes wander along the borders, not daring to step past the invisible border. Lowering herself, she sat cross legged next to her sack, hands resting easily in her lap, ready to wait as long as it would take.
