The breeze brought the comforting, sweet smell of her pretty, alternative cousin before Sage came near to the emotional body of the de le Poer. Large hands raised to wipe at her eyes in the attempt to fix whatever was wrong; she couldn't let Sage see her in the state she was in without feeling guilty or stupid. No one saw the woman in her disarray. No one, save her brother, and Ezekiel was not there to comfort his dark princess of a twin. The gentle hand of the familiar female was, however, and as it reached out to rest upon her back, Talitha felt some of the weight lift from her shoulders. She kept her face turned away, hidden by a curtain of auburn hair.
"Hello, Sage." Her own voice mirrored that of the younger Lykoi, a quiet whisper, but lacked the concern she was presented with. Instead, it held nothing. It wasn't the voice of the de le Poer Optio that gave away her loathsome emotions. It was the eyes, those dark and hateful things that she stole from her mother, that allowed the world to see what she tried so hard to hide.
Her fingers tapped against the old leather bindings of the bible in her arms. "I'm okay, you know. I just like to come here, to the beach." She enjoyed it, if no one else did — unlike her father, she could not remember Hell's Coast, over the mountains — for the water comforted her worn mind. Casting away her distress, she turned her face to see her visitor, plastic smile present upon cream-colored jaws. "You don't need to be concerned." She could see it in the expression of the other woman, and she could hear it in her voice. It seemed misplaced upon her pretty features.
