OOC Any of Robin's family who lives in the Aatte residence are welcome in this thread. Smile This takes place at the Aatte home. 500+

The creak of a settling house echoed through the room and brought little chocolate tipped ears to attention. Every animated limb right down to the whip-like tail froze as the pup's ocean-blue eyes flicked toward the sound. Her perch wobbled beneath her with the sudden tensing of her muscles, but she managed to keep from swaying too far and toppling to the ground. A year passed in puppy-time, though it was only a few seconds in real life, and the girl soon decided that no one was coming down the hallway, so she returned to her task.

Even this small movement made the child almost wobble off balance again, and this time she reached out with her forepaws and anchored herself on the bookshelf. It was dusty up here, but it would take a lot more than some dust to frighten off this little girl. Beneath her hindquarters was a makeshift staircase. At the base were any household items that the girl could reach and manage to stack fairly successfully; atop those and now supporting her five feet in the air were books pilfered from the shelf that she now used as support. The construction had taken her all morning, but she would have rather executed this crafty plan than wake any of her slumbering family.

Glancing over her shoulder, Robin's eyes cast downward for a moment. The floor really was an awfully long ways away now, but she was up this far and might as well carry on. After all, she'd only thought about stacking the books so she could get up, she hadn't put any thought into how to get down, and there was no way she could turn herself around and climb down this rocking, swaying makeshift staircase.

Shrugging this off, she turned back to the books and perused the top shelf. There was one in particular that she wanted to read... Okay, well, not read. More like look at the pictures. She knew it had green binding and gold letters, but was not quite sure which book it was. A sniff test didn't help much more than her eyes did either, so she resorted to her last option. Tiny, pointy white teeth latched onto a book on the shelf, wrestled it from it's spot, and then nosed it open. When she saw only words, Robin snorted and moved on to the next book. It was not long until there were too many books laying open on the shelf for her to grab the next one, but she tried anyway. As she snatched the next book and prodded it with her muzzle, another volume clattered to the floor.

The pup yelped in surprise and nearly jumped out of her skin. The books beneath her began rocking, but no matter how she tried to stable herself her butt kept slipping away. In a last ditch effort to keep from falling, she lunged forward just as the mass of piled books joined the first on the floor. Robin, shocked as a cat, found herself trapped on the top shelf. She panted as her heart thrummed violently in her chest, glanced down at the sizable mess on the floor, and then looked at the hallway and awaited certain discovery.
