It was somewhat chilly up in the mountains, where the giant resided, but nowhere near to when he first arrived between the craggy peaks under winter's cold gaze and the hard stare of the moon. The sun was slowly melting everything away, overcoming the frost and showing visible signs of spring. It mattered little to the foreign giant, whose thundering steps he took down the mountain and towards the forest earlier. The new wounds that had gathered on his chest, wrapped with make-shift gauze, were sore; like all other wounds, though, they would pass on to become scars. What didn't kill him did, in fact, want to make him stronger.

However, Viking found training to become a bit difficult once he hit the outline of the forest, slightly re-opening the wound on his left side - where the young warrior's blade struck him. Though King's breathing was heavy from over-exerting himself, calloused fingers laid gently atop the wrapped injury, stained fresh with new blood. The warrior had to shrug it off, not only to prove himself that he could overcome the flesh wound, but to be able to maintain his title as a warrior in the eyes of his queen. In the silent pause he took to re-evaluate himself, the colossal one's ears caught rustling in the bushes.

His wound forgotten, he found himself crouched low to the ground, still in his two-legged form. Not only was it the form he had to stay in, but King wanted to stay in. The long transfusion scar across his chest reminded him of this daily, infused with the blood of royalty. It was an honor, a gift he never had to receive, but the only way a warrior could express his gratitude was to obey. Presently, the muscled warrior clung to his weapon as it shifted in the dirt alongside him, the sounds coming in louder, and closer. Claws lightly scraped the earth, as Viking prepared himself to lunge. The scent of what appeared to be rabbit was drawing near.

As quick as lightning struck the earth, the bone washed giant's teeth bit deep into the rabbit's neck, the vice grip ending the creature's life almost too quickly. Spitting the carcass out to his empty left hand, he clutched the thing by its bleeding neck as he rose to his full height. Muzzle lightly stained with blood, Viking felt his hackles raise at the scent of something else. It was no rabbit, either.

King wasn't all too sure where the bear was, but his nostrils picked up the strong odor as if it were feet away from him. He remembered a fellow member of the pack, whatever her name was, being attacked by a bear not long ago. Maybe it was coming back for more, and he could have use for a new pair of fur slacks. Growls became snarls, as his lips curled upwards in a vicious sneer, attempting to threaten the bear not into running away, but challenging it - willing for it to come closer. Rustling in the distance alerted him further, and soon the surrounding forest echoed with his challenging calls.
