She could see the same indecisive faltering inside of him, both of them were lost in a sea of voices telling them who they should be and how they should act. Gemma was not blind she had seen and heard the way Giuseppe tormented his younger brother verbally and emotionally, cutting off the younger sibling from any semblance of family love or bond. Maybe she could be his family if he let her, instead of the grump he had gotten. Hands moved down to her arms and it was such a nice feeling she almost purred but managed to restrain herself, she didn't want to ruin this moment with any unneeded noise for surely he would pull away once the contact was broken.
But he wasn't, he was moving closer and her breathing was getting faster, and she could heart her heart in her overlarge ears. Softly spoken words had her mouth contorting into a semi frown, why would she hate him? Then his hand was on her cheek and pulling her closer, lips touching hers and a surprising warmth filling her stomach. Her hands moving without her say so to look gently around the back of his neck and blue eyes closing.
