Hi there :3 don’t mind the hopeless girl
514

The elegant and small cloud-furred female had not returned to her homelands from the previous night. A simple lack of the need to be alone in bed for a few fitful hours caused her to keep running. She felt like the young girl she once was before he had found her. But he was gone, leaving her in the same state she was before. Nightmares came frequently now, like unwanted visitors lingering in her mind whether sleep eluded her or not. Since his strong arms were not there to hold her in the cold and grey toned mornings, she guiltlessly avoided any instance he would if he were here.

After meeting the man she found herself fond of in the clearing, her limp body wandered north until she found shelter in a cave that expanded its darkness enough to fit Saphraine. She traveled without food and didn’t have the energy to hunt. When night fell, cynical and teasing with its light patterns in the sky, the girl fought to stay awake. Hours of unconsciousness came and went until Ever let her eyes drop permanently.

It was easy to wake before sunrise. Her labored breathing had aroused the stallion first, causing him to stir and stand anxiously, eyes on the blooming golden ball in the sky. She woke soon after, pushing her auburn ringlets back. The half weave was still in her hair, protruding spiraled fiery red tendrils. Before leaving, Ever steadied herself and patted Saphraine down with a hand.

She was off before the golden lights of dawn had touched its twisted rays on the basking sea. Pushing the haflinger into a strong gallop, the girl headed east, face an expressionless mask. Ever lead Saphraine till they were both out of breath and slipped gracefully off him the first chance she got, immediately going down to her knees on the hard stones of the bank north of the lake. Her eyes closed tightly as she fought to breath. Sorrow and guilt swept through her in waves until she was able to control herself. She wasn’t oblivious as to why this was all happening again.

Slender body stood and paws padded on the hard stones until they fell away to forest floor. Beams of dusk danced in between the trunks and lined the ferns in silver. The youth turned slowly and collected her companion in a meaningful hug, grasping his muzzle with her dark paws. She had no sense in direction, where she was, what she was doing. Such a feeling bothered the proper girl. Carrying the grudge with her on shackled chains, Ever plodded forward, finding comfort only in the presence of having the wild stallion near.

Reaching the edge of the lake came as a relief, and no sooner had they got there than the hybrid dragged herself upon a rock and gazed in the aqua shallow water as if trying to find answers. Knees tucked to her chin, Ever lay her sorrow in her own lap and listened to the gentle purl of the water and the click of hooves on stone.
