There. It moved, in the shadows of the sunset. What she had traveled out of the territory for. A deer. A magnificent, agile doe grazed on bark and growing grass within the tangled forest of Ethereal Eclipse. Ghita grinned, ever so slightly. It hadn't taken long at all to find what she'd been looking for; she was certain that time would continue to give her plentiful prey for future necessity such as the festival she was so determined to give her family. Denali's death still hit hard, though they had all been healing. For the feast that she and Mati had discussed, she wanted venison, and that was the reason for her impromptu venture into the woods at sundown.
Apparently, it wasn't meant to be. As she took steps toward her prey, a snapping twig startled both her and the doe, and the latter darted into the thick foliage with its white tail all she could see. A string of loud and outraged curses, most in her native Italian tongue, flew through her jaws and into the air. She was angry. How could it have gotten away? It was in the perfect place, and she had been so careful! Apparently, it was not careful enough. She stood alone in the clearly, arms crossed beneath her chest as turquoise eyes glared daggers at the ground. Damn creature. How could it have gotten away?
