It's Been Too Long

Word Count→453 Had to look at his profile for a bit, and I assumed he was wearing the clothes, since that's what it has listed. OMG, he is so huge in comparison to her. @.@

The children were growing. Already, it seemed they would soon be adults, and though it excited the maturing Marino, she couldn't deny the sadness that she felt at that fact. Fia and Tony and Lorezno, each of them would soon be considered adults in the eyes of their family. Ghita folded up a blanket in silence as she mulled that over in her head. Aro and Sophia, they had already grown up. Sophia had started to rebel against her parents, running off to who knew where. Aro was so quiet lately. As their mother, she felt she should have known better the places that her children spent their time, but it simply wasn't so. Tony and Lorezno took up much of her attention with their fighting. Even Fia, in all of her activity, distracted the Marino woman.

She rubbed at blue eyes once she finished cleaning the room she had shared with Jazper for nearly two years now. It looked the same. It always looked the same, at least to her. A haven for her often grumpy moods, where the dark male could ease her stress. Of course, lately they hadn't had the same amount of time together as they might have in the past, busy raising their children to the best of their abilities. Fia had been the first to leave their shared bedroom for her own space, but at this point her brothers had done the same and that left more space for Jazper and Ghita to pursue the romance they'd had in the past. She'd already started to take steps toward that, working on a gift or two here and there when Jazper wasn't around.

The day passed easily with her out and about, playing with Fia in the growing grass and placing the finishing touches on a tool belt for her handsome mate, and when the sun went down and she returned home, she was exhausted. A nuzzle to Fia was her goodnight and the Italian wolf made her way back toward her own room from their daughter's, checking on Tony and Lorezno, Aro and Sophia along the way. Sophia wasn't home. Ghita let out a sigh and closed the worn door to her eldest daughter's bedroom, giving a shake of her head. Jazper's voice caught her attention farther down the hall; he was looking for her.

She approached their bedroom, rubbing her cheek with an uneasy hand. "Sophia is gone again," she said, her often lively voice hiding beneath a film of sadness. Her arms found their way around his chest, as she was much shorter than Jazper, and let her face rest against the soft fur between the pale blue fabric he wore. "I don't know where she goes all the time."
