It's not over tonight

Since he was so young, Toxic got used to the lands really quickly. He wasn't like his elders and attached to the old Inferni; the pup simply used the situation as an excuse to explore. So high and low his little feet took him, mostly around the edges of the new territory. Hybrid had taught him that the coyotes were to remain separated from the wolves and that they were allowed to use force to make them respect the boundaries. Toxic's little mind was being warped and woven into something new and exhilarating; he was a wolf-hater, the pride of Inferni. He would soon follow in the footsteps of his half-brother and mess with those ungrateful wolves' heads.

The morning found him bouncing around the territory edges again, after yet another lesson from Hybrid. It was time to make his family proud. The little six month old would play guardian today, wary of all who crossed him. Speak of the devil... there was his first chance. It was just a young wolf that was just a bit bigger than himself. Toxic still took it as an even match, though. She looked like a puppy around his age. Toxic fought the urge to make a friend while hiding in some nearby shrubbery. It was just like that crab on the beach... a sneak attack would be best.

He waited for the opportune moment, slinking away into the bushes. With the arrival of spring they were all budding but still hadn't grown leaves yet, so he had limited cover. Suddenly he jumped out, landing a few inches in front of the little girl. "What are you doing in Inferni, wolf? He snarled, with all the malice he could muster.
