Hope you don’t mind the rambling, I haven’t had a decently sized post in ages XD
Ezra had been gone for weeks it seemed. Ezra didn’t need to be gone that long; he just wanted Vigilante to know that the new Duke could be trusted. He had hung around the borders day after day, viciously guarding them with every ounce of his being. The Kingdom didn’t need too much protecting, so he often just spent days pacing. While he was gone from his seaside home Ezra realized he had no skills. Vigilante had been kind enough to let him into the pack but for anything other than hunting, the man was useless. Ever and other members tended to the horses, or the hotel, but the man mainly kept himself and the family he was beginning to start. It irritated him; he wanted to advance in the kingdom, become close to the King, but he couldn’t do that without acquiring some new interests and skills.
At the end of the two weeks the man decided he had done his job for now. He made the long trek back to the sea, bi-colored eyes taking in the coast around sunset. His favorite wind rustled his dog-like fur as if it was welcoming him home. Ezra wanted to surprise Ever so the man stealthily walked into their bungalow without a sound, intending to spook her. He walked through every room unable to find her. Frowning, the man looked through a window looking for his ever elusive mate.
The cloud-colored female was out in front, inches from the sea, washing some of her clothing. Seeing the beautiful woman again sent a shiver of excitement down the Duke’s back. Oh how he had missed her. She was the subject of his dreams every night and it seemed lately he wanted to take her for his own and do naughty, naughty things with her. Knowing the woman for almost a year made keeping those thoughts to himself nearly impossible. He wanted her so badly, and didn’t want to wait much longer. He knew Ever was very delicate, however, and didn’t want to push her into things she didn’t want to do. But he still wanted her.
Ever’s back facing him, the man snuck out of the house and crept down the beach. In a playful gesture, the man gave his mate a powerful nudge with his nose, pushing her down so the secui could cover her face with kisses without a word.
