The shock had worn off by the time she could breathe again. His mouth had broken off from hers momentarily while his eyes searched her face before resting in her vision. A delighted grin spread on her face. He was so much more handsome than she remembered. His mouth turned up into stunning smile that matched hers. Ever breathed in the salty air, barely feeling it sting her lungs. The breeze was cold, however, the girl didn’t let go to the man even as he placed another exuberant kiss on her lips and closed the space between them.
Her breath was shallow again when he finally let the air fill her chest. A whimper escaped her throat when Ezra untangled himself from her and she fell back onto the russet damp earth. Panting came like an impulse now as she hesitated for a moment to remain calm. The silver girl brought herself up to the man’s face again. Hearing his voice made her mouth dry.
“I missed you more,”
She didn’t doubt the statement. He was her drug as she was his. Her eyes begged him desperately to sweep her up and take her into the house. Ever didn’t want to tell Ezra how much she missed him, she wanted to show him, and she wanted him to know. The sand came to meet her back again and she swished her tail in the dry grains. Auburn ears fell back against her head and she placed her smoky foot on his stomach. Her body wanted so much more, even if it hurt. She had missed him too much and to know that he was hers now made her enticed.
