Young meets Younger

As a heads-up, if you didn't read his profile, Elijah is autistic so he'll be behaving differently than your average puppy.

The oddities of faces were still beyond Elijah. He grasped very little when it came to displays of social prowess, as was currently displayed by his vacant stare. It might have seemed rude, but Elijah had no concept of such a thing. Instead he stood there and listened to the dog’s fast-spoken voice, not interrupting, not even thinking to do so because he had so little experience with the spoken word.

The stranger offered him food, offered him a place to stay, and while Elijah might have thought better about this after the incident with the snake, he did not. Blue eyes, luminous and ghostly in the moonlight, never wavered as his high voice rolled out with the faintest trace of his mother’s peculiar accent. “Okay,” he said shortly, not answering the other questions because the one was obvious (he was exploring, as it was) and the other wasn’t a question at all.
