A New Kind of Song

The sable feline was residing in one of his favorite places - Halifax. He wasn't in the library today, although he had been a few moments ago; his mouth began to slaver, reminding him that he was quite hungry. He had slipped out of the crack in the door that was just wide enough for his skinny body to fit through and went searching through the abandoned city to look for some lunch. In no time he had found a small mouse wandering the city, a piece of paper clamped between its jaws; in a swipe and a crunch, it was gone.

Now satiated, Element sat poised on the edge of a fence. His eyes closed, he was the epitome of calm, his exterior relaxed and - what was that?

Cupped ears swiveled forward as Element heard a faint.. singing? He had heard singing from songbirds and singing from the wind moving through the trees; those songs didn't have a lot of melody, but they still filled Element with wonder. But this singing... was different. It had a melody, yes, but it wasn't quite like the songs he was used to - this voice, as he knew it was a being rather than a couple of birds trying to woo each other or the wind dancing through the hollows - this voice was high and pure, and, at this point, Element was almost certain it belonged to a female Luperci.

He kept his eyes closed, but continued to listen; soon, he heard the other types of songs, too - birds? Opening his mouth and wrinkling his nose as to scent whatever was following this girl, he realized that she was near birds. Who was this person..?
