A New Kind of Song

The pale princess took in the cat's words briefly, on the subject of living alone. She didn't quite understand how anyone, creature or otherwise, could stand to live by themselves. Giselle herself longed for company constantly, and had she not had Tux by her side during her travels after papa's death, she would not only have been terribly lonely, but lost in the world as well.

Words about the library went through one cream-tipped ear and out the other, as 'Elle could no longer contain her curiosity of the cat's black coat. When given permission by the cat with a strange twist in his voice, her pale hand reached out to touch the gentle coat of night. The touch was gentle, at first, feeling nothing but silk under her hands, as if she were touching the night sky itself. Pale blue eyes glittered in mirth, and soon Giselle could not contain the giggle that slipped from her lips, as if a child were touching an animal for the first time.

Tux, by now, had hopped onto the fence itself, for he knew what his caretaker was capable of. He did not care to be dropped again, knowing she'd forget that he held him, and so stood with careful paws upon the fence to the left of the cat, facing it. His beady eyes rolled at seeing the attention the white girl gave to the animal, but knew her attention would waver soon.

And it had, as Giselle scratched the animal from back, to chest, around the neck, and back up along the creature's spine again. With her curiosity satiated, she drew her gentle hands back and clapped them together at Element's previous statement. "A library? How lovely! Oh, I'd love to see it~" As she said this, she twirled in place, her shadow dancing upon the cobblestone ground. Whatever reason Giselle had come to the abandoned city was forgotten, and now she merely wanted to follow the magical talking cat to its home.
