Element's cupped, ebony ears bent back as the canine seemed to be about to leave. Before he did, though, he sent a small box hurling towards the wall - the boy was obviously stronger than Element, but no doubt could Element slip away through crevices which the canine could only dream of going into. The boy then stopped abruptly, catching Element's attention - he sniffed for a moment, then his eyes narrowed. Element wondered why he was in such a place - Element had never seen a canine search for rats before, rather finding them in pursuit for larger prey such as deer and even caribou. But this young one didn't seem to mind the rats, and he spoke as well.

The sable-shaded feline disliked the tone in which the boy spoke, but chose to shake it off; he was not old, but rather young, and had less experience than Element did. Deciding to act amiably for the moment, Element drew himself out of his hiding spot in between the metal cans and showed himself to the canine.

The boy was young, and had light brown fur that sported darker markings around his face and his eyes. His rather larger-than-average ears were also tipped with a darker brown tinge, making him seem like a coyote hybrid than anything else. Element sat in front of the mutt, giving his chest a few licks before deciding to speak -

"Pardon," he said, "but I had been napping when you came and knocked these cans down, waking me," the feline stated. He drew his tail around his paws, feeling no need to introduce himself any further unless the canine said something more - or attacked.
