Takes place at Shiloh Hills. Slight PP towards the end but it was discussed. Wordcount- 614
Mizu needed to get some fresh air. She had been feeling kind of cooped up recently. She didn’t really know why though. She just felt like she was confined and she wanted to get away. She wouldn’t stay out for long, perhaps just the day. She smiled as she walked. She had no direction or care for where she was going. She saw a deer and stopped. She was hungry so she quickly shifted into her Secui form, her biggest form. Mizu took her time though and by the time she was finished shifting the deer was gone. She scoffed to herself but didn’t shift back, just picked up her pace to a fast run.
She eventually came to a place where hills surrounded her. It was beautiful. Everything was green and the trees were so lush. She looked up at the sky. It was bright blue and the sun was high in the sky. It shined brightly, its rays beaming down onto her pristine white coat. It warmed her instantly and she smiled. She could sit there forever and just bask in the sun. But something didn’t feel right. Her skin crawled and she felt a strange shudder go through her body. She didn’t know why though. She decided to ignore it and walked to an area where there were several trees.
As she got closer to the trees her skin crawled even more. It felt as if there were beetles crawling underneath her skin, trying to break through. It was a scratchy feeling and more shudders rippled through her body. She whined and shook out her coat. What was going on with her? She let out another whine as a huge shudder passed from her neck down to the tip of her tail. Maybe it was from her being cooped up? She didn’t know really, she had never had this feeling before. Maybe if she would have turned and left the feeling would go away. But Mizu decided to ignore it and continue on with her peaceful day.
Mizu continually got the creepy-crawling feeling and several shudders passed through her body. It was as if her body was trying to protect her from something, but her mind just couldn’t figure it out. She hated the feeling and just wanted it to go away. A light breeze picked up and with it the feeling started to fade. And with it new feelings came. Fear, shock and disbelief. She smelled something on the wind. It was familiar and it scared her. It smelled like Shurui. That was impossible though, her brother was still with the pack. There was no mistaking it. Her brother was in the field. Along with his scent she smelled another wolf, but she didn’t know who it was.
Mizu shook her head in denial. NO! Her brother was not here. He couldn’t be. It took eight months or longer to get here. He couldn’t be here. It was just not possible. She whimpered. But he was here, no doubt about it. His scent was as strong as it would be as if he was standing right next to her. She looked around her. Shurui was nowhere to be seen. Her skin crawled again and a shudder passed through her body. Then it was clear, the reason why she had been feeling strange. Her body knew, but her mind didn’t. And now it did. She was rigid with shock and fear. She couldn’t move.
Then a rustling in the trees behind her. Her ears perked up and her legs felt like rock. She heard a small crash behind her and she whirled around. There standing in front of her was Shurui.
