Mizu sucked in a breath as she too heard the crushing of the bones. And felt them. As her wrist was flung away she grabbed it, holding it close to her chest. His words shocked her, "What happened to you Shurui?" She whispered it and tears welled in her eyes. She remembered after the first fire when she would visit him and they would talk and have a good time. Was he acting the whole time? She blinked away the tears, not wanting to look weak. She took in a breath, her shattered wrist forgotten.
Were her mother and Aki still alive? Her heart pounded in her chest. If they weren't she would just die. When she didn't return home she always thought that with her gone Shurui would be okay. She never understood why he had hated her so much. She was confused.. Why after I left did you continue to do such horrible things?" She bit her lip, her hard shell had not held out for too long. She wouldn't cry, she wouldn't run. She would just hold her head high and face everything.
Mizu didn't even react as she was picked off the ground. She looked into her brother's eyes. Trying and hoping to see even a glimmer of niceness within the depths of his icy eyes. Her words made her smile slightly and as she was thrown to the ground she tucked her wrist against her chest as to not injure it more. She rolled a few feet but stood up. She was fine. "No promises there brother."
Mizu smiled. At long last she had stood up to her brother instead of cower. She may have gotten her butt kicked but at least she did it. She watched them walk away. She knew that Shurui would come back to torture her. She knew that it would not be the last time she saw him. It scared her but it also made her want to scream in anger. But the anger had faded, and now what was left was a sad and broken heart because her brother was evil. And there was nothing that she could do about it.
