Tis no problem! wc:410

The Marino didn't usually go about gathering branches in this way, most often preferring to find ones already fallen and drying out, or to take his axe to the branches of trees felled for the purposes of his larger projects. His initial reasoning behind heading out of the pack lands was to see what tools he could scavenge from the familiar city of Halifax, so it didn't seem like much of a stretch for him to gather much needed materials on his way as well. While this method took a bit more effort, he found that it was a rather amusing way to pass the time.

At first it seemed as if his blade wasn't so keen on cutting through the wood at all, but a little maneuvering and the slightest change in pressure on the broken branch began to get him results. He alternated between a sawing motion and a chopping motion, and though his blade was not suited for either, it managed to get the job done within a number of minutes. When the impromptu task was nearly complete, Ehno tossed the blade to the ground at his feet, grabbed onto the errant branch with both hands and gave it a tug. It came free from the base of the tree, and the Marino male smirked in triumph. He studied the branch in his hands, mentally taking note of the portions of the branch he would have to clean up with a smaller blade before he could go about chopping it into usable portions.

A chance glance to the side allowed the Marino to catch sight of a slight bit of movement, and he was taken aback when he realized that there was a large figure standing by only a short distance away. Amber eyes had steadily adjusted to the dimming evening light, and after a moment's scrutinizing he realized that it was not one figure, but two. A canine atop a chestnut steed, facing his direction and evidently watching him. Ehno watched them for a silent moment before settling the now-freed branch onto the ground and picking up his blade back up. His free hand reached into his pack to search for the cloth as he stood. As he pulled it out and began wrapping the the blade back up in the old cloth, amber gaze returned to the looming figure in the distance. "Ciao, stranger," he called out, wondering if the mounted canine was friendly.
