Haven had expected some kind of reaction to his comment about hitting inanimate objects. It was a little funny—also true—but the Russian seemed devoid of any kind of emotion. His response almost might have made the Knight chuckle if it had been said in a different way. There was nothing behind those gold eyes, only a glossy and void appearance to them. Something was obviously bringing the other man down, though of course the Aatte had no notion of what that might be. He barely knew Anatoliy, much less enough to guess as to what was eating at him. Haven was not the type to shove his nose into another's personal business either, and so he did not ask. "Gods know there's plenty out there worthy of a good pummeling," he replied off-handedly. Anatoliy shrugged off the inquiry, but it was clear he had been looking for someone. Haven cocked a brow at the dismissive response, but did not inquire further. He didn't feel it was so important an issue as to press the Russo about it. Then the other man asked if he had seen "anyone" lately and he was able to pick up on the not-so-subtle undertones as to who that "anyone" was. He may not have known much about Anatoliy, but he was at least aware that he and Anann were fairly close. "I saw Anann the other day, though not under the best circumstances I'm afraid," the Knight said with a frown as he remembered the grey-coated Serf.
