She awoke with the rising sun, a disheveled mess of red wolf fur and a beautiful jumble of brightly colored feathers and beads resting along the banks of the AniWayan river. Oh, it would have been more comfortable inside of a hut, but Chitsa hadn't been in the mood to return to the central part of the village when she finally managed to sleep. She didn't have her own home, anyways, having lived with her family for so long in the Great Tribe and having only just come to this new AniWaya, where her brother was Kalona and where she knew only a few faces. A whiny grunt escaped the ruddy jaws as she pushed herself from the grassy earth she had slept upon; a grimace of displeasure wrote itself over her usually placid expression as she spit the remnants of feathers and dirt from her mouth. Eugh. Disgusting.
Slim, feminine hands dipped into the cool waters of the river beside her, bringing water in the cupped depression created by them to her angular face to take a drink; it was followed with a splash to her features, trying to clear any excess dirt from the handsome coppery shade of her coat. One blink, two blinks, a soft sigh. That day would be the day she returned to the life of the Tribe, after having been alone for so long. It was time to regain normalcy. Wet hands rubbed at blue eyes in order to finish the process of waking up, and a toned wolf body rose from the ground to return to the village of her new home.
She tossed a jumble of braids and waved locks from her shoulder, entering the boundaries of her new home in silence. The different scents jumbled in her mind as she sought a place to make herself useful; this was not the same home she was used to, but she was certain it could soon become no different.
