Crappy first post for Hybrid. Ahem. Forward dated to the 29th, after Caillen and Talitha get it on. I guess she's technically in heat, and technically smells like him. Small details. Forest of Nod.
In the darkness, the trees had lives of their own. For Talitha, this had always been a fact, but in the shadows that wrapped around her in that moment, there was nothing for her to fear there in Nod. How queer, for usually there would always be the remaining traces of her demon Uncle, dead now in the burning fires of Hell as her father claimed. There was nothing haunting her. There were no golden eyes to fear. There was only Talitha, in her subtly drunken stupor as she rested against a heavy tree. Her mind was elsewhere, as usual, this time resting still in the heavy arms of her Winters lover.
Oh, as it had been the first time, their encounter had been magnificent. Leaving him had hurt. Despite this, she had returned to Inferni without care, unwilling to admit words to herself that may have been so clear to everyone else. Caillen was simply furniture. Handsome, hybrid furniture that she would never stay with. She couldn't. Inferni was her home; he had no place within it. The faintest laugh escaped her, mournful in all its amusement. Naturally, Talitha would be left alone, replaced in the lives of those most important to her once they found a better version, just like her mother had.
Silence came upon her as she sat at the base of her tree, crimson eyes staring into the night without a reason to pay attention.
