Sage could feel those crimson eyes on her, her own yellow ones catching the smallest glimpses of Halo's unamused expression. It made the girl uneasy, and several times she had to shift and adjust her position. For a moment, she considered simply leaving; but didn't she have a right to be here, too? It was about time that Sage showed some assertion, anyways. A little of that went a long way, so she continued painting, though kept silent.
When the book shut, Sage nearly jumped, obviously flinching at the sound. Her gaze slid to her Centurion cousin, sunshine eyes locking for a moment with blood red. She swallowed, and hesitantly turned her attention back to the canvas.
Several more moment of silence, and Sage peeked briefly over. Halo simply sat back, no longer reading, book clutched to her chest. Crimson gaze only stared straight at the earth-toned Lykoi. Instantly, large chocolate ears fell against her skull. She would avoid her gaze, pretending that all was well; and really, so far, it was. Mostly.
"What's that you were reading, there, m'am?" she asked softly, pleasantly, briefly nodding towards the cover of the book, but unable to see it's title. Sage turned back to the easel, making minor adjustments to her work and fiddling with the colors. If her darker cousin really loathed Sage's presence that deeply, she would leave; she just so hoped that they could get along. Or at the very least, tolerate each other.
