she's lost in her thoughts

As expected, Sage did not understand. Talitha listened, but took in none of her nonsense about being good, about moving on. The de le Poer could not understand the mind of her cousin. All of the facts were so clear! The wolves were not to be trusted, and though her father and brother and she differed on dogs, Talitha saw them to be as much a wolf as the next. But Sage, oh Sage, she saw the good in everything. Silence caused Talitha to wonder why she had stayed in Inferni when she was just so clearly wrong. Why had Ezekiel given her this power when she went against all they truly stood for? She'd seen it in her brother, she'd seen him when Makhesthai died, she knew that he followed the same path as she and Gabriel. What purpose did Sage serve in the grand picture of Inferni?

Talitha's eyes remained cold as she surveyed her cousin's features, rolling over questions in her mind. "Who are you to tell me what should and shouldn't be thought towards them, Sage? You don't belong here; you aren't a child of Inferni, I don't care what your father might be or what your blood is. You don't share our thoughts. They aren't to be trusted. We all see this. Inferni sees this. Why can't you?" She'd since quieted, her questions based in inquiry and confusion rather than outright anger. "You think we aren't good already? We take care of our kind, of our families. What bad is there in that? What bad is there in taking care of us when they want to harm us? They kill our kind, Sage. It's only fair that we retaliate, that we place our trust elsewhere." Her hands found her hips, eyes closing as she took a moment to breathe. Sage simply had to learn. "Maybe you need more lessons on what it means to be a Lykoi in Inferni. They are outsiders. To embrace them is to turn your back on your family, just as Gabriel has in the past." She tilted her head to the side, letting the crimson gaze open once more. Perhaps she was radical in her beliefs, but she felt she was right. Gabriel had told her as much.
