For Daemon. I would have gotten this up early, but got caught up with making some things for Evelyn's house on her profile, since I saw that it might be hard for others to imagine the house without something to refer to. xD

Evelyn wasn’t the one to be seen cleaning, nor was she very good at it, since she was the one usually making the mess. But now that she had a house that was full of dust, and spreading wood shavings across the floor in the main room, she finally realized after two weeks that she not only had to rebuild the old store, but also make it livable for anyone who wasn’t used to this type of setting. The hybrid had spent the entire day sweeping the first floor clean of old human debris that had long ago molded, as well as a good layer of dust, having found a bristled broom in one of the houses next door. Her hair was tied into a ponytail, while a cloth, acting as a bandana, kept her bangs out of her eyes as she swatted the last pile of dust off of the porch and into the grass, landing with a puff. Though she felt this was a day wasted, half of her couldn’t help but feel happy that she could walk on the floor without getting splinters in her feet, and the interior looked a little bit more presentably than the day before.

As she settled down on top of the counter that was nestled in the corner of the room, pushing aside the broke cash register aside; she assumed it was broken, because the empty tray wouldn’t stay closed whenever she pushed it shut, hoping it would have been a good place to hide a few things in it. The sun was already so low that she couldn’t see it, houses and trees blocking her view of the setting sun, but there was enough light outside to see inside the house, so she didn’t feel the needs to bring out some candles right away. Since it was too late to start on anything else until tomorrow, she reached over behind the counter and brought a box out of a drawer. Evelyn pushed the top off of the wooden container and dumped the contents onto the countertop: it was various little plastic human figures, even one that looked like a winged lizard with gnarled teeth and two horses, and most of them were missing one or two limbs from aging, even a few with their heads amiss. She had found the box of toys in the living room, under the moth-eaten couch as she was sweeping, and was looking over them with warmth yet pity; they were most likely a human child’s toys, and she wondered if the kid was alright, even though she was sure that the entire human race had died out. Perhaps she could one day give them to some younger Luperci, so they too could enjoy them like their former owner did.

The hybrid placed each figure up on their feet, and for the ones missing a leg, she leaned them against one who had both of his limbs. They mostly looked similar, some with different clothing than had long ago lost their color. Evelyn thought that maybe she could one day get some paint and try to renew these toys, like what she did with tools and other human things. That idea made her felt good inside, like she had another purpose, and sighed with contentment.
