A low whine escaped his lips after only a few moments. He expected that Alder was a busy individual, with his interest in horses and, in general, his life amongst his pack mates. His worry was that his brother would not come, and he would be left waiting to no avail. But he wished to see the coal and tawny man so desperately, he could not imagine the dread of having to return home without his desire fulfilled. He was in the midst of turning to pace in the other direction when a song of a voice he recognized rang through the wind, and only then did Oak stop, his tail rising high above his haunches and his nose quivering. His brother's scent mingled among the wind, and was growing stronger by the second.
In a matter of moments, his brother at last appeared within Oak's line of sight, and in a youthful display he lowered his front half to the earth, rump in the air and tail waving with the pace of a clock pendulum on the fritz. He barked his excitement, but did not stray beyond the borders despite his impatience to greet Alder. But he did not have to wait long before the other came to him, and Oak straightened his posture to nip his brother affectionately on the cheek. Thanks, he said as he put some space between them, drawing up to his full lupus height, his tail continuing to wag at his heels. It's great to see you. he spoke in warm tones, his own silly smile matching Alder's exactly.
He was so relieved that his fears turned out unfounded, and here his brother stood before them. They could carry out their long awaited plans after all. Do you still want to show me around? I am anxious to see Cour des Miracles, and your horse. Can you tell? he asked, a brow raised and his grin now crooked in sarcasm.
