The male didn’t give any further hints to his lineage, but Cercelee let it pass. Sentrosi had already proven that he had no qualms about introducing himself as a Sadira, and surely he would run into another who recognized the name rather quickly. Perhaps Colibri or Mew, as they both knew the name well enough and were sociable towards strangers. Sooner or later Sentrosi would meet them, and perhaps Cercelee would get her answer, if only to settle the curiosity. It made no real difference if Cercelee knew or not, she fully understood this fact, but part of her wanted to know how far the blood lines stretched, how deep in generations was this family she had stumbled into? How far out did the branches of the tree reach exactly, and how far did she have to go to get out of the shade of the family tree?

His explanation of any past pack was vague, but Cercelee didn’t need to prod deeper. Knowing that there was a past, that this wolf didn’t spring from thin air into her life, was quite enough. If anyone’s past should be contemplated, it was probably best to mull over her own, but she did not allow herself that, and so would not spend any time doing so for a stranger either. Well, you certainly seem to be offering us loyalty, yes? Have you anything else to offer us? Cercelee really didn’t mind if he didn’t, the others had all been acceptance based only on that single virtue. Of course the others did have other qualities that made them valuable, as pack mates and as friends, but those weren’t discussed until after the pack had been made a reality, they hadn’t been weighed during the initial decision. Still, Cercelee didn’t think it would be appropriate to allow any stranger access without some semblance of a screening system.
