crumbling like pastry

finishing here- the threads been up well over a month so there's no need for more posting.

The wooden beam was handed swiftly up to him and Saul was quiet for the next few minutes as he set it up properly. It was good to be around his family, although he knew that it would take a while for him to finish the roof properly. The second leg of their journey together- he and the roof, would be completed on his own, as if involved being on the outside of the roof, hammering the tiles into place so they wouldnt move this time. It took him and Range only a short while to make sure everything was in place before Saul let his aching hands drop from the beam, stretching his protesting shoulder muscles by swinging his arms around his body before clambering down off the table. Range followed suit as the two of them surveyed the room. It was looking much cleaner and Saul was pleased that once the roof was fixed, there wasnt a lot else that they would have to do to it until there was a new owner of the apartment. He sourly hoped that owner to be his brother or sister, he didnt care which.

Eyeing the four boards they'd bought in with the wooden beam, Saul quickly confered that he wished to do the inside ones first and then they could do the outside ones at a later date. Grabbing the first, as well as a handful of nails Saul jumped back up onto the table, lining the board up as best he could. Of course, it hadnt been a clean break and there wasnt a perfect square to patch up. So the board overlapped in places with the old ceiling but there was really very little he could do about that. Holding the board in place he quickly moved to hammer the nails in to secure it there. Where his own grip failed, Range came up to hold it into place and the young male was sourly glad for his nephew's help in the matter. It didnt take them very long at all to fit the two flatboard over the gaping hole and seal up the room. Had it not been for the windows shedding light into the room, it would have been plunged into darkness. Looking around at those assembled, Saul grinned softly.

"Thank you all for your help, it was great! Eclipse, would you like to complete your task tomorrow?" He paused, looking towards his cousin as she confirmed yes. They would get up early and go planting as Razekiel had asked her to do. The family stuck around a bit longer before Saul herded them out the door and off to their respective passtimes- he had to go outside and hammer the boards into the outside now. It would take some balance but he was sure he would be fine. For safety measures he took Range, standing on the ground and ready to catch him should he fall.
