[M]y [P]ersonal soldier boy

Men in general had never really managed to draw her attention before; it wasn’t because she wasn’t attracted to them, for she was more than willing to drink in the sight of a good looking guy like any other girl, but when she was around male figures she respected she had always found herself more in awe and filled with jealous than considering other… possibilities. Her various foster parents had laughed at her lack of interest in relationships as she grew up, telling her that she would grow old all alone and depressed and that she should try to be a ‘pretty’ and ‘normal’ girl to prevent that from happening. When she was lectured regarding that particular topic, she had simply brushed of their words and continued living her life as she wanted to.

Now, her certainty in her choices and beliefs were weakening somewhat; although Saluce had made his opinions rather clear, she couldn’t help but doubt him and nit-pick his actions, looking for error in him, searching for a reason to accuse him of having her on and making a fool of her; no matter how much she tried, she was haunted by those words, secretly believing that she’d spend her life alone. Then again, a life time alone hadn’t bothered her until she’s encountered the soldier. A blush began to creep its way to her cheeks and she looked down intensely at her feet hoping he wouldn’t notice.

Her blush only deepened when he confessed to missing her and such, her mind raced looking for a witty comeback or an escape route from the topic of conversation, but her foolish mind had drifted of to go be happy, leaving her a blushing, silent thing attached to his side. Hmph, I’m no different from those foolish girls in the end… the thought cause her stomach to clench and a sickening feeling filled her. Although she hadn’t spent much time with Saluce, she could see how she behaved differently around him and was scared of the ways in which he was changing her.

So draw into her own internal dilemmas and self debating, she was completely oblivious to the change in her soldiers body language and altogether missed the ‘suspicious man’.
