The encounter only lasted a few seconds, but the meaning behind it was clearly understood. He was in foreign territory and those who thought of this place as theirs didn’t care for a new wolf in town. But he bowed to no man or wolf or whatever and his display sufficiently made the stranger think twice about the matter with no back up. But still he decided it was time to get off the streets, so his lady wouldn’t have to see another side of him, at least just yet anyway.
His eyes looked down at her, noticing her blush and the way she was clinging to him. It felt nice even if he knew she was capable of defending herself. It felt right to feel her more submissive in his presence even if there was no reasonable explanation to explain why she suddenly acted in such a way. The marine pulled her closer, about as close as one could get in their current situation, enjoying the feel of her on his side. He only lightly realized she hadn’t said anything for a while, which was unusual as well.
“why don’t we get off these streets, and go back to my place Taylor?” he really wanted to ask her to stay there but even he decided that was way too far out there as far as they were in knowing each other.
