She was tired, and her old bones spoke to her with creeks and pops when she did not pay attention to her gait. Her heart was no lighter not then it had been when she left the borders of her pack lands. The meeting that played hours ago was swimming slowly through her thoughts, and she knew not how to take the news. But instead of heading straight back to the Dreaming homelands Anu headed north.
For the briefest moment Anu looked for the mountain, the jaded peak that had once been her home. The black wolf with ruby red eyes had brought her back there and Anu had even wished for the same brevity to truly be back in those times. To be young, to have a spirited love, to still be finding herself and to have the answers of questions revealed with an adrenaline laced spontaneity. That was what it was to her as she looked back on it, but the wolfess knew better then to believe in memories. She knew better then to throw all she had gained here and now to the wind.
Black nose to the coast Anu wondered where the packs had gone, the ones that once owned these lands. The scent remained but it was neglected and fading fast. Silver and tawny figure followed the fading sunlight, her nose working to find the misplaced scent of a familiar wolf. Another memory, another mystery and another shadow in her past. Blue eyes looked out into the distance, the soft pale hued woman seated with her face watching the Sun leave their world. The Dreamer called to her, a low bark to announce her approach for it seemed that perhaps the wind was in her favor. In her heart Anu believed that she would be remembered, yet there was no reason for her to intrude on a moment meant for solitude.
