The serene lands were home to many, but few managed to catch a glimpse of the blonde unless he wished differently. Strength and health had returned swiftly, and his cracked collarbone seemed to be healed, more or less. The absence of ache was welcome, as was the sound filling his ears with the steady breaths of a slumbering, wet God. The outside temperatures could not invade the shadowed sea caves along the south-eastern coast. While the majority of the pack’s members had access to this area of their land, he had yet to be interrupted here.

Cross-legged, he sat mere from the sunlit entrance, well aware of the time of day. The flawed prince did not have to retreat into the wet depths to ensure his solitude. He had responsibilities as the right hand of their leader, and therefore had made the decision not to choose a grander place to hide. He had to be available in case his superiors’ needs were to rise. Or perhaps he just wished for the absence of flowers and the faint taste of salt on the air.

Eyes were, as so often, closed off from the world he belonged to, his breath easily overpowered by the rhythmic hum of the ocean. He would continue to revel in his emptiness. Pale hands rested in his lap, palms facing down.
