They were family; the coyote hybrid knew this from the man's surname. The same blood that ran in her veins flowed through Itachi's -- Eris had never derided that blood. It was as much a part of her as her father's, and she could not rid herself of it. There was nothing left to do but embrace it. Sharp chartreuse eyes regarded the other man as he spoke, his head dipping downward in a display of respect.

The sable-hued woman slid forward into the cave, settling down cross-legged a few feet from him. Sir Lykoi, she responded, a faint expression of amusement on her coal-hued muzzle. Even in Salsola's small claim, there are these secret places, the hybrid said after a moment's pause. I wonder what whispers these caves have overheard, she said, lifting her eyes to the rock ceiling of the little cave.

Thankfully, they repeat none of what they've heard, she added, rolling one shoulder in the slightest movement of a shrug. Her gaze returned to him, wondering what glittering secrets were behind his ruby-hued eyes. Perhaps Itachi was even still unaware of them, but Eris knew better -- the shade lurked just behind his eyes, deadly-sharp and dangerous as anything she had ever seen.
