Will lightning strike our fears away?

I think Ka's heart just stopped. :'D

Really, he'd never anything even remotely formal, did wolves even have anything formal? So when the first chance arose of something formal like he jumped at it, or, well, he wanted to at least. Sadly he hadn't a thing to give to the new mates so he figure not showing up at all was less embarrassing than showing up empty handed. This time, however, he was prepared although the gifts in question were a bit special to him. A somewhat matching set of two hearts carved of wood each with a red ribbon strung through a hole at the top. He'd started crafting them in his spare time after the first ceremony for himself and his mate, whenever he found one. Now, though, he decided that was a dream too far to reach and thought it better if another had them.

So there he was, rushing about like a madman to the area where Naniko's call sound with said hearts safely in his pocket. Kase was never raised to be a fancy man and so it was no surprise he wore his everyday clothes, but he really did want to dress up. He hadn't a clue why but he nonetheless wanted to and in an attempt to look nice he had left his hair down. It was the least he could do. Likely no one would care, but it was the thought that counted.

By the time he got to the gathering he was all but ready to fall over in exhaustion. He certainly not the running type, though he felt he'd be late if didn't. He didn't give himself time to catch his breath and instead started searching the few others standing to see if they were familiar. Immediately he spotted Naniko, but for the moment the only one he recognized. Still that was all he needed to feel slightly at ease as he had come to trust the Angela a very small bit since their last meeting. His searching came to a halt as he focused on the two standing side by side, the new mates he assumed. They... They looked a bit familiar, namely the small white one. The giant narrowed his eyes and that's when his jaw slightly dropped.

He did know them, oh, did he know them. Matteo and, and... The boy bit his tongue, what the hell was his name? Jay had mentioned it before and he always heard the name thrown about when his parents talked(or more like fought), what was it?! K... Alaki! The name struck him like a stab to the chest, Matteo and Alaki. How...? Of all the wolves to mate, why them? From his encounters with both he wouldn't think they'd be a match, but, hey, opposites attract? What he felt most of all, besides confused, was awkwardness. This was the ceremony of someone, after he thought about it, who held nothing more than pure hatred for him. Alaki wouldn't notice him, right? He didn't want to ruin this.

With much effort he forced a small smile for Matteo and those around, but his ears and tail stayed in a submissive posture. Perhaps this wasn't the right ceremony? Alaki wouldn't even want what he made would he? Likely not and if he did accept it he'd just throw it away when he left. The brute gave a silent exhale and stayed still, just merely waiting for things to start.
