It felt like a dream. A very bad dream. He had given away his brother, promised him to some oversized wolf that would never deserve to be held in the heart of a Trovato. There was no way that his brother would actually go through with such a union, no way. Regardless Giuseppe approached his clothing shelf. Almost instinctively he began to reach for his deep blue suit, it was the color that Carissa had dressed him in since he was unable to shift, symbolic of all the weddings, business parties and celebrations they had been dragged to throughout their pup hood. Stopping he decided to read for his black suit instead. Teo would know what this meant as black was only worn when there was a loss.
Slowly he made his way to the ceremonial grounds, not wanting to be early in the slightest. No, he would arrive just in time for the big moment when his brother would reject the lamb’s blood and the charm, realizing how he was smiting the Trovato name. In his heart he knew his brother wouldn’t betray his family in such a way.
Finally he arrived at the clearing and silently took a look around. Seeing Matteo start across the coals he approached Gemma who had been left behind. Slowly he took her hand in a gesture of companionship. Yes, he treated her horribly but she was loyal to the Trovato boys since her return to the pack and the two were united through their wish for the pale boy to leave his stupid dreams behind.
His dark brown eyes seemed almost black as they watched on in horror as his littermate showed no sign of hesitation and accepted the blood on his forehead. Jaw dropped in horror as Matteo turned and kissed his lover. The ceremony was officially over and there was no more going back. From now on, in Giuseppe’s mind, Teo was a deserter, a betrayer to his kin. Pushing Gemma’s hand out of his own the hybrid stormed off destined for the cover of the forest to help cool his temper.
