Know your place [ATTN AniWayans, tribe news!]

Perhaps it was all fantasy that everyone would've complacently obeyed. Most of the tribe were, after all, outsiders like herself, and did not intimately know the finer points of respect that were so highly valued in the Great Tribe. But alas, Ralla was right there with them; she was appalled and confused and wanted so badly to just rise up and rebel. When Leon stepped forward she made an attempt to cut him off--she knew he was going to do something--but he made his gesture, and the black wolf disabled him quickly. She stepped forward--she could see that Leon was hurting, injuries re-opening--but was stopped by his own gaze, and was overpowered by it. The black man let her friend go and, although she did not immediately go to him--Leon had his pride, as he showed fearlessly--she did give him a worried look as he passed as she grazed her hand over his shoulder.

It came away smeared with blood.

Anger for her family rose within Ralla, but she quelled it. Nayati and his sister, as well as others, stepped forward to question this Maska Ahote, only to be challenged by the Guardians and then chastised by Maska himself. It was all escalating, and right then the ranks were shaking and threatening to give way. But Dawali... To hear him admit to his 'crimes' was heart-rending, and it was only the loyalty to the red wolf that steeled her next words. "J'adore is right," Ralla said, stepping forward again. Although she no longer held any title but a pathless wolf, she felt the same about her tribe and her leader; perhaps they would listen once more before anymore blood was spilled on the sacred ground. Hopefully hearing the words from the former Councilman would spark their realization of just how severe the situation was; of how opposing Maska meant only more trouble. "If we ever cared for Dawali we would respect his words and turn to Maska." Those words rose bile in her mouth--she did not want to follow them, and hopefully the rest of the tribe could see how forced her voice and face were. "And we shame ourselves by going against what he says. With...with our leader's permission," Ralla said with an audible choke on the word 'leader', "we should all return to our homes and...reflect." Ralla did not make the rules and it was no one's place to oppose them; not as they were now. Something would be done--of that she could assure--but it wasn't the place to do so right there, where the words of the Great Tribe's chief had just been spoken through his Councilman. Everyone in the tribe had family to think of; to protect. And causing a stir or having Maska's eyes on them would not help their case, and it seemed especially dangerous with his Guardians to worry about as well. Ralla herself had need to do the same; she caught Ayasha's eye and saw that her other children were there, too, and very subtly flicked the green orbs from them to the direction of the hut so that they may escape the emotional devastation as Leon and Analise had. They would let this meeting and transgression on their family go...

Until the time came to avenge the fallen.
