Esmeralda's return to the fold had caused a surge of vague and unrecognized emotions in the chest of the usually apathetic man. It was his final child — sure, he had more of them, but she was one of his youngest group — to return to him. Bossy, megalomaniac Esmeralda and her golden, colourful servant boy. Ravesque had scoffed at the idea of a servant boy, giving Daisuke little thought. What was important was his daughter, not her manservant, who had returned to his world. He did not love her, not in the way that so many seemed to claim love existed, but he cared for her presence.
His legs carried him across the common room, prepared to enter the storage in order to visit the library when he heard the sounds of...well, he wasn't entirely sure. Sorrow, frustration, anger? He'd heard cries of all sorts of ephemeral emotions in the past — in his near 8 years of life, he was wise in the ways of society's sounds — but he was not well at truly judging the emotions of those around him. Why would he be? There was no reason to feel emotions, emotions had no proof of themselves, and therefore he had severed his own to an almost unrecognizable sense of being. He knew what he felt. He knew what not to feel. It was easy.
The distraction of the sounds caused him to follow the path toward them, leading him right to the edge of the missing Rakeeb's den — well, if he was missing, he wasn't Rakeeb any longer and the den would have no occupant until Naniko decided to replace him. Of course, he was surprised to see the halfling body of someone...unfamiliar. The eyes, however, were not such a thing. Beauty Selene, Naniko's sister, had once had such a cerulean gaze. One eyebrow rose as he leaned on the stone wall near the entrance to the den — with eyes like those she could only be the D'Angelo's only daughter. "Did you get started by a rat? They're for eating, not for growling at." His words carried all of the apathy that usually left his jaws.
