His silence was not unusual, now or before, and he watched the woman turn eyes to him, muscles tensing as she crouched. He waited for a blow that didn't come, and it surprised him that it didn't come. She seemed so very aggressive, for reasons unknown to the Tuyul, that surely she would have pounced by now. But no. She didn't move. Instead, she spoke. She knew him. He tilted his head, locks falling slowly to the side as he watched her for a moment to try and discern where — yes, she was Selene's daughter, but it seemed as if she knew him personally rather than in the vague way that most had known him within the underground walls of the cult. The only face he truly knew from the past was the white face of Naniko, outside of the children they claimed together.
Through his brief confusion, he took in her words as something mocking or perhaps somewhat jovial — he commented on his age, after all. A massive hand rose to rub at his chin, eyes closing for only a moment before reopening to study her again. "I've been here for a while — I came for Naniko." That wasn't entirely true, he'd come because there was no Tribunal left for him to live beneath and because his children needed a mother-figure. Naniko had been his lover, they'd produced the dark, red-eyed Scorpius who had grown into and adult, as disappointing as he was turning out to be. But what he said had been true enough, and he allowed himself to sit at the base of the nearby wall with a grunt of exertion.
"And whattabout you, what are you doing here?" It wasn't really curiosity that fueled his question, for he assumed that she had left for the same reasons he'd left, but a desire to simply know.
