The cloud colored hybrid gazed across the vast expanse of ocean that could be considered her front yard. White caps thrashed and rolled like a herd of horses raising, galloping and fading in splash of colorless liquid. The wave reached towards the shore, desperately clinging to sand and small fragments of shells and rocks before it was unwilling dragged out again and spun as silk into a watery blanket. Aqua frosted eyes flicked back and forth across the rippled land at every curl of the sea. Soft lavender was dripped across the sky in place of the dissolving sun which cast a luminescent orange around itself like a halo. The horizon that partially obscured the setting ball of light was direct, gray in color, and indifferent.

Her morning had been spent at the stables, leisurely cleaning and organizing various essentials in the Miracles barn. The afternoon had come up shortly and she had returned home, taking her stallion with her by her side. Her mate was absent, and had been lately when she came home from work. The pain became unbearable by then so she had planted herself on the steps for another day, staring blankly out towards the nothingness of the horizon. Hands framed her face in an exasperated motion. Occasionally, opaquely grey-blue eyes found her companion grazing nearby or staring worriedly in her direction. Eventually, Ever called him over and lead him into the woods.

Since the pain started the girl hadn’t left the usual route from the bungalow to the stables. She hadn’t had the energy to travel or see anyone, the thought made her feel even sicker. But the idea of sitting home again had broken through the clouded mind of hers, stirring a bit of her personality to the surface. Ever didn’t know where she was headed, maybe seeking the help Ezra had suggested, maybe running until she had nothing left to worry about but the pain that was coming in waves of soreness.

Saphraine rocked with his steps, swaying the hybrid a top his bare back. Ever let out a sigh, enjoying the feeling of the shade of the tree branches dance along her back. Her fingers had tangled themselves in the stallion’s radiant snow white mane. Scents of summer came on the soft wind mingled with the distant fragrance of sea water. The girl raised her muzzle catching a familiar trace with a slight tang of a foreign pack. She urged the golden equine to a smooth trot with a placid tap, her face furrowing into curiosity. The smell only grew and led them towards another territory. Saphraine even began tossing his graceful neck, the guardian he was. Rather suddenly the forest thinned and a memorable figure became clear.

He sat comfortably alongside his steed that was reined to a tree. She circled the two once before prancing in and dismounting in a quick polished movement.

Saul, what a pleasurable surprise,

Ever said, adding a gentle smile. She placed a hand on her companions neck to stop him from advancing the two anymore. He turned into a nudged the smoky fingers tenderly. The luck of finding Saul made the girl almost giddy.
