Barn Sense

WC:429 - I want her to learn about the animals of InH so those who can effectively teach her are preferred. But, those who also want to learn are welcome too. Dated to July 18th

Table by Kitty.

Rust hide gleamed in the afternoon sun as wispy tail flicked away the heat’s flies while horned head lowered to munch on the juicy mountain grass. The pup just couldn’t help herself as she crept silently closer to the big, burly bull. The ultimate play-thing! However, it would soon educate her if commonsense didn’t first, which of course it didn’t for the child’s mind was momentarily too simple for such things. At least she’d learn a valuable lesson, that is if the bull didn’t maul her into a fine pulp. But! Commonsense didn’t completely lack in her mind for the moment the craze-eyed beast swung his massive horns in her direction she quickly rethought her intentions. Although, it was too late now as the bull stampeded towards her with an enraged moo from his frothing mouth. Verloren quickly dodged and bolted toward the barn, the bull hot on her heels. She hoped the beast would stop once she reached the fence, but doubted he’d even consider a pause for the rotting boards. A slick smile then arched her agape mouth and she darted in a different direction.

The poor cow never knew what hit her when the pup dashed beneath her carriage, luckily her mate halted before mowing them both over. With a displeased grunt the cow lumbered away, Verloren safely tucked between her legs much to the unknowing of the bull. Once a safe distance away the pup left her shield to torment the other barnyard critters.

She first set her sights on the sheep and was successful in scattering them all about the pasture and barn. But, she turned out to be a surprisingly good herder – at least for a five-month-old – as she chased them back together. Eventually, they grew tired of her games and a few bold members dislodged her interest by holding their ground. Although, she wasn’t done yet as she then turned on their cousins: the goats. The two nannies ignored her antics for the most part and after many failed attempts at roughing them up she set her sights on the billies. However, they were quick in teaching her a lesson with a few well-aimed rams.

Bruised but not beaten she came across the last of the barn’s animals. Unfortunately, a wire-fenced gate stood between her and the chickens. Oh the temptation of those fine-feathered birds! With a frustrated whine the Tundra paced to-and-fro before the door before finally plopping down. But, she had yet given up as her golden orbs inquisitively studied the obstacle, a hungry lick running across her tawny maw.
