The little pup's reaction to her words almost had her smiling but she cept her stern expression on her face, youngsters should know their place despite being young. But it was not her intention to scare the young female out of her senses like the female had been doing to the animals, the shock of being caught would be enough to encourage her not to do it in the future and so Jace's face relaxed somewhat although still retaining some of its sternness. And if Jace caught her again then a more suitable punishment would have to be thought of and the child's parents or guardian contacted, if she had any here.
Then the pup tried the world wide trick used by all young ones to try and get out of trouble and mischief they were caught at, innocent expression and large cute eyes stared back at her with a liquid golden gaze.
Jace kneeled down onto the floor, putting herself downwards towards the child's level, she clearly remembered being at that age and getting up to and into all sorts of trouble with her twin, but she felt the need to explain to this one why scaring the animals was a bad idea,
"You know why scaring the barn animals is bad? Because if they got out when they are so scared they could hurt someone on accident, including yourself and it would be all your fault. You wouldn't want that would you?" Her tone was gently chiding, mismatched eyes gleaming slightly with silent amusement, she wondered how long her telling off would have an effect on the brown and light toned child or if it would have an effect at all,
"Now that that is over, what is your name, little one?" Jace was a mother at heart and couldn't resist looking after any little monsters that she found, up to and including one child minded woman named Tawny.
