She commented on the similarity of appearance between the father and son, but it only caused Ravesque to grimace. He had no desire to be affiliated with the boy — Scorpius was a fool, a fool who thought his mother would love him if he tried hard enough. Perhaps that was true for most, but Naniko was not most women and her respect was not so easy to receive. Still, he could see where the kid's desire to be accepted stemmed from; though he knew better himself, each new moment with the woman brought a further rush of wanting to the head of the Acidic male. He wanted her approval, her appreciation, but he remained silent of that fact to all. Even he was unsure if he truly believed it of himself.

His eyes fell to her distended stomach as she rested a hand upon it, claiming she'd been 'busy'. Well, yes, that was obvious. In its own way, it infuriated him — he was there, and they had already produced children, so why hadn't she come to him? Who else had managed to touch the Angela? Who's children was he caring for by taking care of her? His bitter emotions on the situation left him uncomfortable, and he was glad when the whistling of the kettle drew him from himself. She warned him of the bitter taste of the tea and explained what it would do; eagerly, he took it from her, swirling the liquid around before drinking down the brew — it was indeed bitter, but he allowed it to sit before swallowing it completely, some of the tea finding its way out of his mouth through the space between his missing teeth.

And then she directed his attention to her bed. He watched as she settled down upon it, only barely listening to her words about teeth. It took a moment before he moved, carrying himself closer to her and taking a seat atop the soft furs. His eyes found themselves glued to the face of his once-lover, his mind returning to a time before, when he held rank and a place within a cult he respected. It was different now, but he was enjoying his time alone with her, even if his jaw ached.

"I miss you. We spent more time together before; it shouldn't have changed — I enjoy your company." The admittance of even those few feelings left him with an awkward aversion to her face — why had he bothered to tell her when all he expected was sarcasm? He appreciated her ability to deflect, but he was often a somber and serious man and the disclosure of his thoughts of her were somber and serious thoughts. He sighed, bracing himself for laughter.
