She sat on the log, her toes digging in the dirt and getting dirty. The snake was long gone, and Skye wondered where such creatures lived - perhaps underground, where they could slither to safety if under attack, or maybe in a high tree; she thought she had seen snakes climbing trees before and sticking to the bark like some sort of sticky snail. Before she could think any more on the subject, however, she heard the crunching of grass and a voice saying hello and asking who she was.

Skye looked over at the person who had spoken to her - it was a wolf. This wolf was male - she could tell by the scent and the posture - and his fur was a white that gleamed in the sun. She smiled at him - she was generally friendly to people that she didn't know unless they were hostile towards her or her pack. This person, however, didn't seem hostile or mean-spirited in the least, and she dipped her head towards him.

My name is Skye Collins, she said benignly. What's yours? she asked curiously; noting his white pelt, she wondered if he was a D'Angelo, related to Naniko and Ouija, the other snowy members of the family. Or perhaps he was just a newcomer to Souls; Skye saw many of those lately, and it seemed that the Nova Scotia peninsula was gaining popularity in the world.
