He had been avoiding her for two reasons. Both of them were good. The first was he was guilty. Whatever he had meant by the kiss, the very late night one, Giselle had not thought of it the same at all. She had rushed out with few words and he had been left standing alone. Confused, he felt that prickle of shame, of having done something wrong. He knew it had to have been bad, but that left him bewildered as to why it was bad and why she would think something like that. It wasn't bad. He knew that much. Naive as he was, he was well aware it was not a bad thing. Silvano still caused the young woman distress and that was why he was so guilty over the brief kiss in a candle lit library.
The second reason was embarrassment. Now, how could he not be? He kissed a girl for the first time and it had ended up in this sort of way. Plus just doing something like that, that potentially meant they liked the other person in a different way was just embarrassing in and of itself. The youth grew a little warmer in the face each time he thought of it. But that shame was always there, like some kind of tainted scent.
He had to go make amends and soon.
It was late once more when the young man found himself before Giselle's closed door. He stared at the door wood sullenly for a few moments before he knocked, once, twice, thrice. "Giselle?" he muttered, hand dropping to his sides. For once he wore a pair of pants he had found, namely because he had remembered how uncomfortable the young woman was when he had not worn them. Maybe Silvano was just trying to appease her. Nah. Not maybe. He was. "Are you there..?" he asked again, voice low so as not to disturb anyone else in the house.
