"I've been good as well", he said with a smile as he settled next to Anu on her bed. His tail making a slow, sweeping pass across the patterned surface of the old quilt. The room was a place of good memories and tranquil moments. There always seemed to be peace in his heart here; a warmth that radiated from within in the presence of the gray woman. The boy could not imagine what life would be like without his mother. A thought that was never even considered.
His smile grew as she shared what she knew of his father. He was a noble creature, of that he was sure, and her only seemed to further confirm the grandeur he felt for the man that was his sire. But he wanted to know the man for himself, in his own mind. Not just from the words that his mother had given him. His smile faded, though only slightly, as he saw that faraway look in his mother's eyes. Touched with sadness. He had seen the look often on her face as she looked at him and he was beginning to realize how much he must remind her of the man he resembled. A man that was part of their lives, yet wasn't. "Why does he never come anymore?" He had only come once before, when they had been young and brought them gifts. The memory of that day was something precious to Cyp. "Does he not care for us?" Estranged as they were, perhaps the Inferni lord had no care for his distant children. A thought that caused the youths heart to sink a little.
